It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gilbert Coon of Knoxville, Illinois, who passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Gilbert may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gilbert touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Coon and Majorie Coon; and his sister Debra Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Pamela J Coon; his children, Samantha Coon-Jackson and Russell Coon; his grandson Houston Jackson; and his siblings, Daniel Coon (Vickie) and Pamela K Coon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Knoxville American Legion (1381 Henderson Rd, Knoxville, IL 61448).
