Rita See Obituary

Rita See (nee Fritz), age 74, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, with her family at her side. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she was the 8th of 10 children.

Rita was the loving mother of Stephani (Cory) Hammen, Cory (Lyle) Stoflet and Jim (Lauren) See. She was a most proud and devoted grandmother to Leo, Paige, Evelyn, Nora, and Finley.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eleanor Fritz, and siblings Norene, Charles, Arlene, Patricia, and Mary Lou. She is further survived by her siblings Jean, Patrick (Dianne), Margie, and Nancy (Bud), and cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

Rita worked at Little Company of Mary hospital for more than 30 years until she retired, at which point you could often find her at home in La Grange riding her bike, reading books, attending live music events with friends, or spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a thirst for travel and adventure, which took her on many trips to Michigan, Door County, Wisconsin, Key West, Florida, Arizona, Maine, Hawaii, and Canada to name a few. A daredevil by nature, she found opportunities on these trips to skydive and see the desert from a hot air balloon. Rita had a selfless nature and a passion to help others, which led to lasting friendships and travels with Habitat for Humanity to give back to communities in need.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 124 N Spring Ave, La Grange, IL 60525, with mass following at 11:00 AM.
