He is survived by: his children, Ryan H. Kienast (Christy) of LaHarpe and Ashley Derby of Burlington, Iowa; his grandchildren, Haylee Slusher (Jacob) of LaHarpe, Hunter Kienast (Alison) of Loves Park, Bryson Derby of Burlington and Rylan Trail of Burlington; his siblings, Vicki Lee (Greg), Linda Virgin (Gary), Jami Inman-Bell of Gotha, Linda Vargas (Rick) of Independence, Debbie Wadden (Tom) of Keokuk, Alicia Haupt of Goofy Ridge, Elaine Rountree (Tom) of Milan, Illinois, Raymond Inman (Sarah) of Coal Valley, Craig Schmoldt (Ann) and Trenton Blythe of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his stepmother Barbara Kienast of Cedar Rapids; his pets, Rocky and Bailey; Kimberly Kienast of Burlington. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
A memorial fund has been established for Hospice Compassus or for Cancer Research at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford.
