He is survived by: his wife Karen Gress (Ludford); his children, Brian Gress of Hanna City, IL, Tim Gress (Annie) of Peru, IL, Lisa Portilla (Ben) of Arvada, CO and Michael Hoelle (Patti) of Troy Grove, IL; his grandchildren, Dante Gress, Rachel Gress, Sasha Gress, Joe Gress, Will Gress, Brennan Pangricic, David Portilla, Isaac Portilla, Vivian Portilla and Lorena Portilla; and his siblings, Kris Paul (Mike) and Jack Gress (Paula). He is also survived by brother-in-law's; sister-in-law's, nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 8:30 AM at the Burgess Funeral Home (860 Bucklin St, La Salle, IL 61301). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family request no flowers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for his favorite charities.
