She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Grothe and Helen Grothe (Prestin); her husband C. Ray Ward; her son Mark Dean Ward; her son-in-law Mark Hudson; and her brothers, Charles and Louis Grothe.
She is survived by: her children, David Ward of Peru, Richard Ward of Lacon, Angela Crocker (JC) of Lacon and Kathryn Hudson of Elgin; her foster son Gary Davis (Linda) of Lewiston; and her grandchildren, Natalie Dalton (Jeffrey) of Olive Branch, Jonathan Ward (Nicole) of Dunlap, Alexander Crocker (Kayla) of Germantown Hills, Megan Crocker of Peoria, Elizabeth Douglas (Kevin) of Lacon, Kara Hudson of Kissimmee, Alyssa Crocker of Peoria, Nathan Ward (Ellen) of Norwalk, Kendall Hudson of Carol Stream and Amy Ward (Eli Denton) of Peoria. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (80 Chestnut St, Varna, IL 61375). A burial will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at the St. Paul's Cemetery.
