He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Pierce (Earl) and Theodore Pierce; his wife Sally Emrich Pierce; his siblings, Theodore Pierce Jr., Mary Lee Bolté and Nancy Polzin; his daughters-in-law, Barbara Pierce (DePucchio) and Alice Pierce (Obery); his grandson Alexander Pierce; and his great grandchild William Padgett.
He is survived by: his sons, David (Denise), John (late Alice), Eric (Marcia) and Kirk (Isabel). He is also survived by two grandsons, six granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sally Emrich and C. David Pierce Scholarship Fund through the University of Illinois Bands.
