He was predeceased by : his brother Lawrence Luxem (Kim); his uncle Arthur Luxem; and his sibling Maryl Gorman Luxem. He is survived by : his wife Mary MacDonald Luxem; his children, Colleen Kuhlmann (Terry), Jacqueline Cline (Dan), James Luxem (Michelle), Madeline Parker (Spencer) and Brian Luxem; his grandchildren, Connor, Fiona, Lily, Juniper, Sophie, Emmy and Nora; and his siblings, Michele Yanta (Dennis), Thomas Luxem (Cindy), Ellen Michalek (Victor), Michael Luxem (Brigid), Matthew Luxem (Maureen) and Rob Luxem (Mary Therese). He is also survived by his in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Interment: All Saint's Cemetery 700 N River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of James Luxem to theCancer Center at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital1000 N Westmoreland Rd., Lake Forest, IL 60045.
