He was predeceased by: his wife Hildy Denworth Gathany; his son Doug Gathany; his parents, Isabel Gathany (Teddy) and W. Vandervoort Gathany (Daddy Van); and his siblings, Edgar Gathany (Ted) and Janice Smith (Jan).
He is survived by: his daughter Lynn Page (Henry Page) of Palm Coast, FL; his daughter-in-law Andrea Gathany of Cumberland; his daughter Robin Gathany Shea (Kevin Shea) of Narragansett, RI; and his grandchildren, Erin, Kristen, Brianne, Dustin, Allison, Adrienne, Lauren and Brendan. He is also survived by his 14 great-grandchildren.
