She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Benard and Alberta Benard; her husband Ronald Valley; her sister Lori Britt; and her siblings-in-law, Bob Harris, Steven Berenyi, Nancy Richardson and Dorothy Valley.
She is survived by: her children, Michael (Melissa) and Julia (Meg); her grandson Oliver Valley; her grandpups, Elmore, Lucky, Daisy and Zoey; her sisters, Renee of Detroit Lakes, Wanda (George) of Detroit Lakes and Lisa of Montgomery, Illinois; and her siblings-in-law, Flint Britt, Roger (Marlene) of Lansing, Rick (Lynda) of Decorah, Iowa, Vicki of Lansing and Shirley (Greg) of Waukon, Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A reception will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ringa Funeral Home (122 S Milwaukee Ave, Lake Villa, IL 60046).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Susan's honor to Save-A-Pet in Grayslake, Illinois, a fitting tribute to Sue and the many dogs she loved throughout her life.
