He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold Thur and Isabelle Thur; his wife Sylvia; his children, Billy, Louis and Amanda (Jeremy); and his grandchildren, Trinity, Calvin, Miles, June and Cecily. He was also cherished by his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home (235 N Main St, Wauconda, IL 60084). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A procession will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:45 AM at the Main Cemetery Building. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (21731 Spring St, Union Grove, WI 53182). The military honors will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery (21731 Spring St, Union Grove, WI 53182).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Duane's honor to Vietnam Veterans of America or Informed Choices.
