He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Bernice; and his brother Paul. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his son John Woody; his sister Deb Gordley; and his nieces and nephews, Adam Swies (Nikki), Nate Swies (Tabitha), Lauren Swies, Jonathan Swies (Sarah), Dustin Swies (Cortnie), David Swies, Mallory McClellan (Jared), Kelsey McClellan (Ryan), Estella Swies and Sophia Swies.
