He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Ann Kooy; his children, Brian Kooy (Donna), Sherri Bieschke (Steve) and Todd Kooy (Joanna); his grandchildren, Katie Djuric (Nick), Renae Fentress (Andrew), Kevin Kooy, Brad Bieschke (Lisa), Abby Bieschke, Adam Bieschke, Andrew Bieschke (Missy), Derek Bieschke (Marissa), Dale Bieschke (Emily), Kara Cayley (Mike), Logan Kooy (McGinley), Case Kooy (Jordan), Leah Kooy, Mitchell Kooy (Kaley) and Bowser; and his great grandchildren, Viktor, Luka, Novak Djuric, Leiana, Eden, Elliott Fentress, Dominick Nieves, Adam Bieschke, Ryan, Brandon, Brooke Bieschke, Ellie, Aubrey, Rory Cayley, Aden and Keller Kooy.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Smits Funeral Home (2121 Pleasant Springs Ln, Dyer, IN 46311). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at the Skyline Memorial Park (24800 S Governors Hwy, Monee, IL 60449).
