He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward H. Simmons and Ann Simmons (Wise); his son Edward Clark Jr.; his brother Henry Sleeper Bussey Jr. (Hank); and his granddaughter Kaylee Derks.
He is survived by: his wife Melanie Ann Woods-Simmons; his children, Chris Simmons (Liz) of Elmhurst, IL, Angie Clark of Bemidji, MN and Mike Wachowski of Cedar Lake, IN; his siblings-in-law, Dolly Bussey of Crown Point, IN, Arthur Woods Jr. (Sally) and Curtis Woods (Marsha); and his grandchildren, Aiden Derks, Peyton Wachowski, Danielle Geeve and Aria Wachowski. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and a circle of wonderful friends.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lansing American Legion Post 697 (18255 Grant St, Lansing, IL 60438).
