James Emery Gindl Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter J. Gindl and Marie S. Gindl (Redar); his sister Orletta Fuehrmeyer (Gindl); and his son John J. Gindl. He is survived by: his children, Michael J. Gindl, David W. Gindl and Barbara J. McMurray (Gindl); his wife Carolyn E. Clark; his daughter Mary (Gindl); and his brother Jerome Gindl. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM at the Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center (8941 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN 46322). The military honors will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 6:45 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the All Souls Catholic Parish at St. Ann Church (3010 Ridge Rd, Lansing, IL 60438).

He participated in a number of EAA air shows in Oshkosh, as well as EAA Chapter 260 in Lansing, EAA Warbirds of America, and the EAA Aviation Foundation B-17 Historical Society.
