He is survived by: his wife Emma Gartner; his children, Tim Gartner (Theresa) of Vincennes, Bill Gartner (Anne) of Lawrenceville, IL, Angie Bottoms (Jeff) of Lawrenceville, IL, Nicole Dickerson (Chris) of Champaign, IL and Jeanette McGavic (Jeremy) of Speedway, IN.; his grandchildren, Nick Gartner (Paige), Chris Gartner, Emily Gartner, Erin Gartner, Abby Gartner, Zach Bottoms, Ben Dickerson, Ava Dickerson, Emma McGavic and Jolene McGavic; his great grandchildren, Riggs Gartner and Colson Gartner; and his siblings, Ron Gartner (Lib) of Vincennes, IN, Mary Kay Yotz (Kenneth) of Geneva, IL, Carol Henke (James) of Vincennes, IN, Sonny Primus (Sandy) of Vincennes, IN, Merle Halter (Eileen) of North Platte, NE and Randy Halter (Debbie) of Ormond Beach, FL..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Catholic Church (803 Main St, Vincennes, IN 47591). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions can be made to Christian Education Foundation to support continued scholarships that Larry took such pride in or the donor's Charity of Choice.
