He was predeceased by: his parents, Olin S. Gardner and Donna Kensler Gardner; and his wife Emmalu McClaskey. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Gardner (Sally) of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Jennifer Gardner (Bill Kasinger) of Lawrenceville, Illinois; his brother Joseph Gardner of Lawrenceville; and his grandchildren, Damon Gardner, Stacy Kasinger, Willie Kasinger, Kaitlynn Gardner, Kolby Gardner, Eli Gardner, Riley Gerold and Peyton Gerold. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home (1303 12th St, Lawrenceville, IL 62439). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
