He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Schmitt and Edith Schmitt; and his brothers, Robert Vest, Larry Vest and Randy Schmitt.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Schmitt; his children, Jennifer Schremp (Tom) and Nick Schmitt (Terese); his granddaughters, Kaelyn Winkler (Zach), Lorena Kraemer, Johanna Kraemer and Josie Schubert; and his great grandchildren, Liliana, Paisley and Colton.
