Cornelius Twomey Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Cornelius Twomey of Lemont, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 3, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeremiah "Jerry" Twomey and Margaret "Peíg" Twomey of Tralee Road; and his brothers, Denis Twomey (Mary) of Castleisland and Jeremiah "Jerry" Twomey (Mary) of Glen Ellyn. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his children, Noreen McDaid (Donal) of Elmhurst, Eileen Crean (Sean) of Frankfort, Niall Twomey (Courtney) of Orland Park, Maire Doyle (Hugh) of Orland Park and Sheila Twomey-Gansler (Elizabeth) of Medfield, Massachusetts.; his grandchildren, Sean McDaid (Catey), Dan McDaid (Abby), Ciara McDaid (Joe Rita), Kevin, Sarah McDaid, Shane, Colin, Declan Crean, Emmett, Niamh, Gavin, Molly Twomey, Norah Doyle, Khloe, Makayla, Hannah Twomey-Gansler, Foster and Mia; his great grandchildren, Beau, Walker McDaid and Baby McDaid; his siblings, Kerry, Sr., Noreen Twomey, Tom Twomey (late Kitty) of Castleisland, Kerry, Sean Twomey (Hannah) of Killorglin, David Twomey (Kathleen) of Lemont, Margaret O'Sullivan (Tom) of Ballydesmond, Cork and Betty Twomey of Castleisland; and his godchildren, Margaret Twomey-Dennehy of Chicago, Hugh Martin Reidy of Tralee, Kerry and Shannon Ridgeway of Chicago.

Con's family wishes to thank everyone for their love and unwavering support during this time, especially Con's Hospice nurses and care takers for giving him incredible care in his final weeks.
