He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed and Marie; and his siblings, Don and Marilyn Kroll. He is survived by: his wife Gerry; his daughters, Kathy McKinley (Mike), Pat Honings (Mark), Elaine Dathe (Russ Kroll) and Gerrianne Hartman (Kevin); his grandchildren, Dan (Heather), Kyle (Laurie), Jill (Tyler), Andrew (Brianna), Danielle (Brandon), Jackie (Marcus), Emma and Jonah; and his great grandchildren, Sophia, Maddie, Penny, Nova, Will, Josie and Lainey.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Walk to End Alzheimer's (https://act.alz.org) or to Mel's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be appreciated.
