He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert K. Layland Sr. and Sarah E. Layland (Kidd); his sister Arlene J. Nick (Layland); and his nephew Skeeter B. Layland. He is survived by: his wife Barbara L. Layland; his daughter Janelle R. Zenner; his grandchildren, Avery and London Zenner; his son Roger G. Layland II (Amy M. Layland); his grandchildren, Ryleigh, Emily and Evan Layland; and his siblings, Herbert K. Layland Jr. (Linda Layland) and Bonnie K. Layland. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
The family is establishing the Layland Family Scholarship with the MPMA Foundation, supporting students interning or pursuing careers in the gear industry — a fitting continuation of the work, and the teaching, Roger gave his life to.
