He was predeceased by: his parents, John Benters and Ruth Benters (Duncan); and his brothers, Glenn and Kevin. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Metzger of Lena, IL; his children, Alex (Lauren) of Batavia, IL, Brandon (Jennifer) of Dekalb, IL and Chelsea Putz (Ryan) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandchildren, Henry, Everett, Evelyn, Jack Benters and Adeline Putz; and his brother Charles Anderson (Shelby) of Tampa Bay, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
