He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore J. Handel and Jeanette E. Handel (Lubold); his wife Eleanor Miller; and his brother-in-law Mike Dick. He is survived by: his sister Shirley Dick of Lena, IL; his sibling's children, Tony Dick (Shannon), Kim Krogull (Nick), Dan Dick (Lauren) and Delvin Trost (Mae); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ari, O'Mar, Zoey and Austin. He is also survived by family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Leamon Funeral Home (210 W Main St, Lena, IL 61048). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (625 Country Ln Dr, Lena, IL 61048).
