She was predeceased by: her parents, James Barber and Lovida Barber (Langdon); her husband John M. Gerbode; her son Stephen "Steve"; her brother James Barber; her grandson Jason Gerbode; and her granddaughter-in-law Nicole Gerbode.
She is survived by: her children, John Gerbode (Sandy) of South Carolina, David Gerbode (Joy) of Lena, IL and Mary Gerbode of Lena, IL; her daughter-in-law Mary Lee Gerbode of Lena, IL; and her grandchildren, Michael Gerbode (Stacy), Bethany Schulz (Rory), Stephanie Amborn (Zach), William Gerbode (Aleisha), Robert Gerbode (Casey) and Amy Erickson (Russell). She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A memorial has been established in her memory for the SSM Monroe Hospice Home, Lena Lions Club and Salem United Church of Christ.
