Klotz (Durkin); his siblings, Doris Klotz, Richard "Richie" Klotz and Wayne Klotz; his granddaughter Jenine LeeAnn Klotz; his in-laws, Paul E. and Eleanor A. Voss Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Schmaedeke (Voss) and Alan Schmaedeke.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Klotz; his children, Patricia Klotz Passfield, Gerald H. Klotz Jr. (Margie) and Donna L. Columbus (James); his grandchildren, Stephanie Erin Owens, Nicholas P. Columbus (Mallory), David W. Carey Jr. (Jaycie), Jessica A. Carey, Cody James Columbus and Timothy G. Klotz; and his sisters-in-law, Louise Klotz and Bonita Klotz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Hope 4 Horses Rescue or DPM Bulldogs.
