George R. Barry Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George R. Barry (Liberty, Illinois), who passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Barry and Clara Barry (Ohnemus); his wife Marilyn Emma Jansen of Quincy's St; his grandson Aaron Barry; his siblings, Virgil Barry, Tom Barry, William Barry, Paul Barry, Kenneth Barry, Bernice Mowen, Vincent Barry and Carlene Barry; and his brother-in-law Edmund Jansen, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Barry (Rose) of Liberty, Robert Barry (Laura Oakman) of Liberty, David Barry (Kay) of Liberty, Joyce Klingele (Steve) of Liberty, Jeanne Dietrich (Dennis "Gus") of Quincy, Richard Barry (Kristine) of Liberty and Janet Barry of Payson, IL.; his grandchildren, Matt Barry (Amanda), Marc Barry (Kendall Moore), Rachelle Goodwin (Rob), Jessica Purcell (Kaleb), Keith Barry (Jennifer), Craig Barry, Angela Thompson (Ben), Bradley Barry, Bryan Klingele (Shelby), Drew Klingele (Stephanie), Connor Klingele (Taylor Rich), Amber Wiemelt (Nick), Heather Buss (Devin), Eric Barry (Kelsey), Kari Murfin (Wade), Olivia Barry, Nicholas Barry, Kyle Beckman (Sarah) and Nicole Cook (Jordan); and his siblings-in-law, Patricia Barry, Helen Jansen and Eugene Jansen (Betty). He is also survived by thirty-two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Brigid Catholic Church (706 N Main St, Liberty, IL 62347). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to St. Brigid Catholic Church or St. Brigid Cemetery.
