Eugene Leo O'Brien III Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 7, 2025, at the age of 83, Eugene Leo O'Brien III of Libertyville, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Leo, Jr. and Mae Sexton O'Brien; his brother Tom O'Brien (Sue); his sister-in-law Diane O'Brien; and his sister Ann Stover (Smokey).
He is survived by: his wife Norene; his children, Eugene IV O'Brien (Cathleen), Margaret Wrenn (John Jr.), Daniel O'Brien (Maggie), Patrick O'Brien (Amy) and Maura Bubinas (Josh); his grandchildren, Eugene V, Francis, John, Brendan, Declan, Norene, Maeve, Grace, Andrew, Sean, Ella, Leo and Joshua "Bubs"; and his sisters, Ellen Elliott (Tom), Mary Kennelly (Tom) and Margaret Byrne (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McMurrough Funeral Home (101 Park Pl, Libertyville, IL 60048). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church (121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville, IL 60048). He had no problem giving of his time to St. Joe's. Amongst his favorite activities were the Mass in the Park, the building of the crèche, Christmas tree sales, and the construction and execution of the outdoor Covid mass.
In lieu of flowers memorials made to the Alzheimer's Association https://www.alz.org would be greatly appreciated.
