He was predeceased by: his siblings, Michelle and Robert. He is survived by: his wife Diane; his sons, Joel (Katie) and Jonathan; his granddaughters, Avery and Tess; his siblings, Patrick and Georgia; and his pet Dusty.
John loved being outdoors and was an avid bird photographer with a special fondness for the pileated woodpecker as well as a devoted Chicago White Sox and Bears fan who treasured attending concerts with his sons and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren; a private family service has already been held, and in lieu of flowers, John and Diane requested that memorial donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
