He was predeceased by: his wife Helene "Honey" Pickens; his parents, James Pickens and Mary Pickens; his sister Patricia Wagster; his parents-in-law, Florence "Chickie" and Robert "Bob" Whitefield; and his brother-in-law Edward Whitefield.
He is survived by: his children, Rachel Pickens, Robyn, Ismael Lopez, Brian, Andrealyn Pickens, Lauren and Andrew Scienski; his grandchildren, Olivia, John, Madilyn, Luke, Danielle, Sean, Mark, Micah, Matthew, Bryn, Judah, Charles, Iris and Eloise; his sisters, Mary Ellen McCants (Thomas), Christine Dwyer (late Raymond) and Margaret Pickens; and his siblings-in-law, Rita "Cissy" Schoenfeld (Harry Gordon) and Lynn Pollack (Mal).
