He was predeceased by: his father Harry Randall Etherton. He is survived by: his stepsons, Branden Schnieder and Harlan Hankins, III (Haden); his siblings, Mark Etherton (Melody) and Tracy Sager (Brian); his stepmother Nancy Hoover; and his nieces and nephews, Harmony Etherton, Rebecca Buchheit (Aaron) and Gregory Amburgey.

Memorials may be made to the Olympia High School Band Department.
