He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Connor (Funke); his children, Tina Reed (James) and John Cotton (Tina); his grandchildren, Robert Butler (Megan), Tia Butler, Justina Knowles (Kevin), Janina Rightmyer (John) and John Cotton Jr.; his great grandchildren, Tyson Roos, Jaden Butler, Jafari Butler, Kevin Knowles III, Kambri Knowles and Maisley Rightmyer; and his sister Aloma Marks.
