He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Smith and Ruth Smith (Walter); his wife Edna Anne "Eddie" (Baughman); his grandson Stephen Smith; and his brothers, Keith Smith and Richard Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Keith Smith (Nancy) and Jerianne Hyde (Timothy); his grandchildren, Matthew Smith (Samantha Montano), Esther Turner (Tyler), Elizabeth Alvarez (Justin), Luke Smith and Abigayle Smith; and his great grandchildren, Matthew Cole, Alyssa, Willow, Owen, Shawn, Thalia, Quinten, Ella, Eleazar and Holland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lincoln Christian Church (204 N McLean St, Lincoln, IL 62656). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to West Africa Christian Mission (WACM) or to Kentucky Christian University.
