He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer C. Sheley and Georgia Sparks Sheley; his wife Myrtle Maaks; and his siblings, Dorothy Snyder, Virginia Klockenga, Mildred Maaks, Jessie Rankin, Betty Downs, George Sheley, Richard Sheley, Homer Sheley and Howard Sheley.
He is survived by: his children, Sue Ellen Rehtmeyer, Lynn Sheley (Margie) and Lee Sheley (Kathleen); his grandchildren, Jake Sheley (Lauren), Amy Kuhlman (Jason), Mitchell Sheley, Luke Sheley (Jessica) and Annie Kowieski; his great grandchildren, Aiden, Colton, Violet, Ivy, Landry and Grayson; and his brothers, Jim Sheley (Joan) and Bob Sheley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his honor to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Zion Lutheran School Bleacher Fund or Land of Lincoln Honor Flight 3010 Cameron Drive Springfield, Illinois 62704-6435.
