We announce the death of Laura Kessler of Litchfield, Illinois, who passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her father Emil Schneck; her husband James Wellington Kessler; her parent Callie Fay Schneck (Brown); her children, Ann Volkmar and Kurt Kessler; and her brothers, Edward, Lawrence, Eldon, Larry and Jerry Schneck.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Cox (Richard) of Walshville, IL, Jill Binney (Keith) of Mt. Olive, IL, Rhonda Stapleton of Pevely, MO, Linda Cole of Litchfield, IL, Steve Kessler (Teresa) of Sorento, IL and Michael Kessler (Lisa) of New Douglas, IL; her stepsons, Joe Williams (Becky) and Dean Williams (Mandy); her brother Leonard Schneck of Leesburg, FL; and her sisters-in-law, Joanne and Mossie Schneck. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service (700 S State St, Litchfield, IL 62056). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to either Coats For Kids in Litchfield or Reno Southern Baptist Church in Reno, IL.
