It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edwin R. Sly of Lockport, Illinois, who passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Edwin R. Sly to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his wife Diane M. Sly (Abrams); his parents, Elisha Sly and Frances Sly; and his in-laws, Helen and Alvin Schroder.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Judy Posego; his children, Vicki Chignoli (Jack), Cathy Shipman, Shelley Surman (Joe) and Steve Sly (Mary M. Saitta); his brother Ron Sly (Sharon); his grandchildren, Carissa Strong (Roel Gonzalez), Amanda Vance (Brent), Sam and Scott Sly; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Hailie, Joshua, Preslie, Dean and Reva; and his sisters-in-law, Susan Cleveland (Phil), Lydia Foreman (Dave) and Jody Meade (late Don). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
