It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVergne J. Counter of Lockport, Illinois, who passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lenore Mellin and Arthur Mellin; and her former husband Earl R. Counter. She is survived by: her husband Stephen Barrix; her grandchildren, Candice Roth (Dan), Alan Staedt (Ella), Tori Lehrer (Nicholas), Coco Counter and Frances Counter; her stepson Charles Barrix (Lisa); and her brother Arthur Mellin (Dorothy). She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
