He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Patricia "Pat" Kooima; his children, Rebekah Hurley (Timothy), John Kooima (Sara), Joseph Kooima (Angela), Robert Kooima (Helen) and Fenna Scholten (Aaron); his grandchildren, Maggie, Darcy, Cassidy Hurley, Natalie, June, Leo, Levi, Eleanor, Lucy, Everett, Abel, Josie, Owen, Penny Kooima, Olivia, Summer, Abigail, Jodi and Johni Scholten; and his siblings, Barbara Vander Meulen (David), Arlene Weezman (Marty), George Kooima (Deanne), James Kooima (Laura) and Carol Verlare. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lombard Christian Reformed Church (2020 S Meyers Rd, Lombard, IL 60148). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Interment Chapel Hill Garden West, Monday, June 9th at 10:00 A.M. Memorials to Moline Christian School, 1253 144th Ave #130, Moline, MI 49335, are appreciated.
