He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald "Doc" Matthews and Mabel Matthews (Rogers); and his siblings, Edward and Ann. He is survived by: his wife Mary (Place); his sons, Jim (Natalie) and Geoff (Valerie); and his sister Donna. He is also survived by his five grandchildren.
