He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Hawe and Betty Hawe (DeGroot). He is survived by: his wife Karen Jones; his children, Mike Hawe (Brandee) of Burlington, IA., Brenda Hillebrenner (Joe) of Quincy and Beverly Hawe (Larry) of Fowler; his stepsons, Robert Hooper (Missie) of Loraine and Joe Hooper (Mandy) of Camp Point; his grandchildren, Lauren Hillebrenner, Landon Hillebrenner, Molly Grimm and Aubree Hawe; his stepgrandchildren, Hayleigh Beer (Teddy), John Michael Renier and Brandy Vanorder (Josh); his great grandchildren, Mackenzie Vanorder, Kolton Renier and Kason Renier; and his sisters, Patty Glasgow (John) of St. Louis and Linda Hanley (Bill) of Quincy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions have been suggested the Blessing Foundation or The Great River Honor Flight.
