It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charlotte B. Slechta in Lyons, Illinois, who passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Irene Zackman and Irving Zackman; her brother Irving Zackman Jr.; her brother-in-law Anton "Tony" Slechta; and her grandson Thomas Slechta Jr..
She is survived by: her son James Slechta (Gail) of Brookfield; her grandchildren, David Slechta (Michelle) of Schaumburg and Sarah Froehner (Jason) of Huntley; her son Thomas Slechta (Lora) of Orland Park; her granddaughter Stephanie Slechta of Brookfield; her daughter Karen Hovorka (Alan) of Frankfort; and her grandson Alan Hovorka Jr. of Charleston, S. C.. She is also survived by seven beautiful great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Woodlawn Funeral Home (7750 W Cermak Rd, Forest Park, IL 60130). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John United Church of Christ (4500 Prescott Ave, Lyons, IL 60534).
