She was predeceased by: her parents, Irene Zackman and Irving Zackman; her brother Irving Zackman Jr.; her brother-in-law Anton "Tony" Slechta; and her grandson Thomas Slechta Jr..

She is survived by: her son James Slechta (Gail) of Brookfield; her grandchildren, David Slechta (Michelle) of Schaumburg and Sarah Froehner (Jason) of Huntley; her son Thomas Slechta (Lora) of Orland Park; her granddaughter Stephanie Slechta of Brookfield; her daughter Karen Hovorka (Alan) of Frankfort; and her grandson Alan Hovorka Jr. of Charleston, S. C.. She is also survived by seven beautiful great-granddaughters.
