Kay Schwarting Obituary

We announce the death of Kay Schwarting of Mackinaw, Illinois, who passed away on June 18, 2026, at the age of 94. Kay will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Morris C. Brenneman and Clara Velma Brenneman (Fasse); her husband George Edwin Schwarting; her brother Robert; and her sisters-in-law, Carleen Brenneman and Marise Swanson (Phil).

She is survived by: her children, Dan Schwarting (Ann) of Mackinaw, Jon Schwarting (Cathy) of Mackinaw and Lisa Dupureur (Terry) of Armington; her grandchildren, Heather Schwarting, Edwin Schwarting (Joy), Adam Schwarting (Emily), Amy O'Brien (John), Abby Miller (Andrew) and Jorgi Dupureur (Logan Demling); and her great grandchildren, Lena, Claire, Gus Schwarting, Sophie, George Schwarting, Jack, Kalyn O'Brien, Alden and Adley Miller.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Minier Rescue Squad; Mackinaw Rescue Squad; or The Women of St. John's United Church of Christ.
