He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Nunley and Bertha Nunley (Layne); his grandmother Reba Vielhak (Gary); and his siblings, Millie Cagle (Johnnie), Dortha "Dot" Mabry (Gene), Leona Cookston (Lawrence), Melvin Lee Nunley (Marlene), Rufus "Ed" Nunley and Glenda Coryell (Tilden).
He is survived by: his wife Gwen McConkey; his children, Kenneth Nunley (Amanda), Chris Nunley (Jessica) and Jenny Walcott (Nathan); and his grandchildren, Nicole Culbertson (Nate), Katie Clark (Beau), Chelsey Schmidgall, Logan Finch, Landon Finch (Carson), Jacie Turner (Logan) and Jaelyn Nunley. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; his sisters.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Tremont American Legion (24584 E Lake Windemere Rd, Tremont, IL 61568).
