He was predeceased by: his father John Briggs Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Sharon Salyers (Eric) of Carthage, IL; his sisters, Sherry McKinley of Highland, IL and Samantha Cuellar (Ivan) of Little Elm, TX; and his children, Chancellor Briggs, Bethany Briggs and Cooper Briggs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the VFW in Macomb, IL.
