We bid farewell to Mariah Christine (Bartz) Merino (Macomb, Illinois), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 5, 2025 at the age of 35. Mariah touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Dennis and Marjorie Peitzmeier; her stepgrandparents, Gregory and Nancy Montalvo; her cousin Michaela Romano; and her pets, Vertigo and Luly.
She is survived by: her parents, Maria Montalvo (Peitzmeier) of Macomb, Illinois and Joseph Everett Bartz of El Paso, Texas; her husband Herson Merino of Dale City, Virginia; her stepparents, Greg Montalvo and Criselda Bartz; her siblings, Zak Bartz, Amanda Prange (Montalvo), Joshua Montalvo and Megan Roberts (Montalvo); and her pets, Pinto and Olympia.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home (201 W Carroll St, Macomb, IL 61455). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
