He was predeceased by: his parents, William Carter and Madelyn Stephens (Settles); his brothers, Don and Harold Stephens; and his cousin Bob Boyd.
He is survived by: his former wife Marilyn Stephens (Barnes); his daughters, Debbie Nordstrom (Neal) of Poway, CA and Shelly Dykes (Steve) of Barrington, IL; his stepchildren, Scott Foxall of Leesburg, FL and Vicky Cannon of Leesburg, FL; his grandchildren, Julia Srivastava (Ajitesh), Anna Nordstrom, Connor Dykes and Ryan Dykes; and his brother Gordon Stephens.
