He is survived by: his parents, Larry Plate and Alice Schleich Plate of Macomb; his children, Susie Boyles (Nick) of Carthage and Jamie Boyles of Carthage; his grandchildren, Kendra Snodgrass (Tyler), Kaitlynn Swartz, Gracie Boyles and Owen Swartz; and his siblings, Patsy Leezer (David) of St. Charles, Larry Joe Plate of Niota and Rose Scheetz (Randy) of Carthage. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
