He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harry and Lorraine Johnson (Handley); his former wife Marilyn Kay Taylor (Dohner); and his brothers, Brian Johnson and Warren Albert Johnson.
He is survived by: his former spouse Gayle Stroud; his wife Margie Twaddle; his children, Christopher William Johnson (Jennifer Albert) of Los Angeles, Colin Robert Johnson (Christopher De Young) of Bloomington, Indiana and Jessica Butcher (Chris Butcher) of Macomb, Illinois; his brothers, John Edward Johnson (Eleanor) and Douglas Harry Johnson of Toronto, Canada; his mother-in-law Marcia Twaddle; and his sisters-in-law, Melanie Falk (Mike) of Macomb, Illinois and Michele Twaddle of Macomb, Illinois. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Macomb Country Club (20 Hickory Grove, Macomb, IL 61455). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Western Illinois University Foundation – W. Garry & Margie Johnson Scholarship Fund for Agriculture or Western Illinois University area of donor choice.
