He was predeceased by: his son Chris; and his grandson Christopher. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his sons, Derrick (Jenny) and Shawn (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Shelby Powell (Neashy), Abigail Gustafson and Brendan Gustafson; his great grandchildren, Athena, Ares and Lilith; and his sister Carolyn Stamper.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Central Baptist Church (2709 N 27th St, Decatur, IL 62526). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
