He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Roy Ballew and Shirley "Jean" Elders (Smock); his stepfather Loren M. Elders; and his brother Roy E. Ballew. He is survived by: his wife Paula Sue Ballew (Broadway) of Mary's Catholic Church; his stepmothers, Christine Ballew of Maryville and Charlene Elders of Farmington, Missouri; his children, Krista Ballew (Kyle Mueller) of Brighton, Amber Knight (Phil Knight) of Granite City, Tiffany Crain (Ed Crain) of Godfrey, Brittany Biver (Skyler Biver) of Granite City and Phillip Ballew of St. Louis; his grandchildren, Trevor Lucas, Mackenzie Lucas, Phineas Knight, Lucille Knight, Mason Crain, Morgan Crain, Jonathan Callahan, Declan Biver, Tobi Ballew, Westley Ballew and Rory Ballew; his sister Robyn Hermann (Mark Hermann) of Maryville; and his siblings-in-law, James "Jim" Broadway (Missy Broadway) of Glen Carbon and Brenda Broadway of Texas. He is also survived by many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Missouri Baptist Cancer Center in Town and Country, Missouri or to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madison and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
