He was predeceased by : his father Virgil Gathmann; and his father-in-law John Boggs. He is survived by : his mother Alvena Gathmann (Mohlman) of Manito; his wife Julie Boggs; his daughter Natalia Marie Gathmann; and his sisters, Janell Durdle (Ron) of Bloomington and Mardell Wilson (Dave) of Glen Carbon, Illinois. He is also survived by many nephews and a niece.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Craig Gathhmann Midwest Central School Athletic Memorial, to be used for the purchase of new basketball scoreboards.
