With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Richard Swayne of Manito, Illinois, who passed away on June 1, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles I. Swayne and Ella Swayne (Mueller); his grandson Christopher Gaspar; his daughters-in-law, Rose Swayne and Earla Swayne; and his sister Joan Enos.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy L. Birchard; his sons, Steven A. Swayne of Cedar Rapids, David C. Swayne of Pekin and Paul R. Swayne of Brigham City, Utah; his stepdaughter Glenda O'Pry of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his grandchildren, Amy Swayne, Jill Swayne, Matthew Swayne, Nathan Swayne, Stephanie Carrier (Jeff), Kathryn O'Pry and Elizabeth O'Pry; his great grandchildren, McKinleigh Carrier and Adam Carrier (Kaylee); and his great great grandchildren, Clara Jo Carrier and Rowyn Carrier.
